Novelty: a patch destined to securely cover the gap created at the rear longitudinal ligament during microdiscectomy is disclosed. Technical features: the invented patch is made of biocompatible material (Teflon), it has the shape of a square or rectangular parallelogram, it comes in varying dimensions (e.g. 10mmx10mm, 10mmx15mm etc) and has all along its longitudinal axis pre-shaped apertures the diameter of which ranges from 1mm to 2mm. It is retained with self-cutting small-sized screws which are made of titanium or other material, passing through the pre-shaped apertures and forwarded to each vertebral endplate. The dimensions of said screws vary; indicatively, they are from 8mm to 10mm long and 1mm to 2mm in diameter.
