The present disclosure is related to a vibrometer based on the demodulation of the signal, frequency modulated (FM), of self-mixing interferometry. The present invention comprises a commercial-type laser diode that emits a continuous beam of light that is divided into two beams by means of a beam splitter. The first of said two beams is a transmitted beam that is directed and focused towards a moving target, while the second beam is a reflected beam that is directed towards an edge filter for demodulation of the FM signal. Once said FM signal has been demodulated upon passing through the filter, it is coupled to a photodetector for further analysis.
