The method refers to the use of a lamp or illumination source, with no laser beam properties, which emits wavelengths of light of the ultraviolet range, visible and/or infrared, particularly a wavelength ranging from 395 to 440 nm, for chasing away, damaging and/or killing arthropods due to a cardiac fibrillation or arrest. In a future, this method will be applied to control arthropods that are vectors of infectious diseases, parasites or fleas in humans, animals and plants. In addition, the application may be extended to the control of arthropods that are poisonous to humans and other animals. This method provides an easy application of a range of a wavelength of light with a suitable illumination level and time for controlling different arthropod populations. The application of the present method does not generate a space-temporal temperature gradient, excluding the production of heat and therefore the increase of temperature as one of the causes that induce the cardiac fibrillation and arrest that provoke the chase away or death of the arthropod. The purpose of this work is to provide a method that does not use insecticides (natural or synthetic) or a laser beam for controlling populations of poisonous arthropods, parasites and plagues and vectors of infectious diseases that may affect the health, growth and development of human beings, other animals and plants.
