The invention relates to a hatch (1), suitable for hingeable connection to a coaming (2) arranged on a vessel (3), comprising locking means (4) for locking the hatch to the coaming in a locked state, therein providing a watertight connection between the hatch and the coaming, and for unlocking the hatch from the coaming in an unlocked state, wherein the locking means are arranged for engaging the coaming, or the vessel structure on which the coaming is arranged, at four or more locking positions (5), wherein each locking position is located in the vicinity of a corner (6) of the hatch and/or coaming. Preferably, the hatch and/or coaming comprise milled parts.
