This invention is related to the development of an innovative method for the treatment of landfill leachate. This method consists of subjecting the effluent to an anodic oxidation process operating continuously using boron-doped diamond (BDD) and lead oxide (PBO2) and naso-stainless steel (BOD). ANODE / CATHOD: BDD / BDD AND PBO2 / SS. ELECTRODES APPLY A DIRECT ELECTRICAL CURRENT WHOSE INTENSITY MAY VARY, DEPENDING ON EFFLUENT CHARACTERISTICS. THE POLLUTANTS ARE OXIDATED BY ELECTROGENERED OXIDANT AGENTS FROM SPECIES PRESENT IN THE EFFLUENT, ALLOWING THEIR FULL DESTRUCTION BY CONVERSION TO COMPLETE BIODEGRADABLE COMPOUNDS, OR COMPLETE MINERALIZATION OF CARBON Dioxide Dioxide. THIS METHOD ALSO ALLOWS TO REMOVE BY METHODIC ION FROM THE EFFLUENT.
