The invention relates to a process for preparing a polymer composite based on polyamide, polyethylene and functionalized carbon nanoparticles, meant to be used in railway industry. According to the invention, the process consists in mixing 90...99 parts by weight of polyamide, previously dried at a temperature of 100°C, for 10 h, 1...10 parts of polyethylene, 1...3 parts of maleic anhydride-grafted polyethylene and 0.1...5 parts of functionalized carbon nanoparticles, in a twin-screw extruder-granulator, with co-rotation and L/D = 25, at a speed of 300...350 rpm and a temperature of 230°C, resulting in a composite with a hardness of 95...100 Sh D, a breaking strength of 7.8...12.8 N/mmand a shock resistance of 6...9 kJ/m.
