The invention relates to a method for obtaining superapsorbing hydrogels sensitive to temperature and pH changes on basis of N-isopropylacrylamide and acrylic acid. Synthesis of co-monomers was carried out by free radical polymerization method in presence of appropriate crosslinker agents, initiators and solvents. Structural characterization of the poly(N-isopropylacrylamide-co-acrylic acid) hydrogel was performed using the infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) methods. The swelling behavior of hydrogels was examined depending on the pH value (2.2 to 9.1) and temperatures in range 20-80°C of the surrounding fluid. The hydrogels after lyophilization swell faster and achieve a higher absorption sarasitu of the surrounding fluid. Obtained poly(N-isopropylacrylamide-co-acrylic acid) hydrogels can be applied as superapsorbing materials.
