Precipitated silica with the following properties is new: CTAB specific surface 145-185 m2/g, dioctyl phthalate absorption more than 300 ml/100 g, water uptake less than 6%, pH 3.5-7.5, residual anion content no more than 2% (as sodium sulfate), average particle size 30 Microm to 20 mm. An independent claim is also included for a process for producing the precipitated silica.
