Disclosed is a method for construction of a boom-type roadheader for an urban shallow tunnel with intensive karst and rich water, comprising the following steps: measuring and positioning an excavation tunnel face, and then performing geological exploration using an advanced geological prediction system; excavating a rock mass by using a boom-type roadheader and cutting picks thereon; when rocks are accumulated to a particular quantity, loading the rocks using an excavator behind the roadheader, transporting the rocks to a vertical-shaft collection hopper by using a transport vehicle or a belt conveyor, and lifting the rocks to the ground by means of the hopper; driving the roadheader back to a position at a particular distance behind the tunnel face after the roadheader completes an excavation cycle, and then constructing an anchor rod and erecting a steel truss; spraying concrete for construction of a primary lining, and sealing the excavated rock face; and pouring concrete for construction of a secondary lining, and forming a tunnel. By stripping rock stratums one by one with a boom-type roadheader for excavation, the influence on the surroundings is less, and construction safety and quality are improved. In addition, construction efficiency is improved and construction costs are reduced.
