Solar cooking apparatus is provided with a support stand readily movable to locate the apparatus in a favorable exposure to the sun. The solar oven embodies a reflector in the inner compartment arranged to direct the sun rays into the hot plate and cooking pot. Said solar oven also embodies transparent lid adhesively fixed to the rim of the reflector in a position that is tilted 10ø downward from a horizontal plane to minimize shadow from the front wall of the oven when facing the sun, and to capture more sunlight when the sun is in the lower horizon. Said solar oven is provided with an access door on the rear wall of the oven securely attached to the housing using a piano hinge and tightly sealed with heat-resistant silicone rubber strip. When cooking, the door is secured using sliding barrel bolt.
