This utility model disclosed a Y-type tapping fitting for application to a pipe in order to tap fluid conducted therethrough to an outlet tap which comprises a housing including a main section with axially-extending threaded bore formed therein, clamping section in axial alignment with the main section for attaching the tapping fitting to a pipe, an outlet section integrally formed to the main section for directing fluid from the pipe to a branch conduit, a rotatable blade having a head at its outer end with external threads threadedly received within the main section and including a cylindrical cutting blade at its inner end, the head forming a socket in communication with a key to rotate the blade and move in axially with the main section, and a cap threadedly connected at the top portion of the main section after the rotatable blade has been moved to its final retracted position.
