Method for processing images wherein each image is composed of a set of image dots, named pixels or voxels particularly in a two-, three- dimensional space or more respectively, each image dot being uniquely defined by its position in the set of image dots and by one or more numerical parameters defining the aspect of the image dot as regards the characteristics of brightness, shade of grey, color or the like and wherein said numerical parameters are processed by means of one or a combination of nonlinear, predictive or classification algorithms to determine qualitative and quantitative characteristics of tissues corresponding to pixels or voxels of the images or morphological and/or dimensional and/or positioning characteristics of objects whose reproduction in the image corresponds to groups of pixels or voxels, which qualitative and quantitative characteristics of tissues corresponding to pixels or voxels of the image or morphological and/or dimensional and/or positioning characteristics of objects, whose reproduction in the image corresponds to groups of pixels or voxels, are indications helping the diagnosis.
