A trimeric polypeptide complex comprising three monomer polypeptides, wherein (i) each of said monomer polypeptides comprises a trimerizing structural element of collagen XVIII (XVIIITSE), wherein said XVIIITSE comprises a polypeptide having the amino acid sequence shown in SEQ ID NO: 1 or a functionally equivalent variant having the ability to form trimers, wherein said functional equivalent variant shows a degree of identity with respect to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1. NO: 1 of at least 30%, and (ii) at least one of said monomer polypeptides is covalently linked to at least one heterologous moiety, wherein said heterologous moiety is positioned at the C-terminal end relative to said monomer polypeptide .
