A method of real-time conductivity monitoring in a steam generation system without interruption of the steam generation system, the method comprising: (a) contacting the fluid in a steam generation system with a belt sensor electrochemistry based on boron doped diamond, the electrode band sensor consisting of boron doped diamond comprising a diamond body and a plurality of doped diamond boron electrodes arranged inside the diamond body and in contact with the fluid , where a front surface of the boron-doped diamond-based electrochemical band sensor is oriented such that a fluid flow direction is substantially parallel to the front surface of the sensor; and (b) measure the conductivity of the fluid by applying voltage to the electrochemical band sensor based on boron-doped diamond.
