An energy management system for one or more wind turbines (1), the one or more wind turbines being connected to a power supply (7) with a limited capacity, and the one or more wind turbines each comprising a series of power consumption units (PCU); wherein the energy management system comprises: a dispatcher (31) connected to the electrical supply to access an available capacity of the electrical supply; an applicant (32) connected to at least one energy consumption unit, the applicant being arranged to control the energy consumption of the energy consumption unit; where the applicant, following a need for an energy consumption unit to consume energy, sends a request to the dispatcher for an amount of energy, and where the dispatcher, based on the available capacity of the electrical supply, or allows the power consumption unit consumes the amount of energy or denies that the power consumption unit consumes the amount of energy; characterized in that the dispatcher sends information to a requestor about a base load, and wherein a unit is allowed to consume an amount of energy up to the base load without sending a request for an amount of energy.
