Method for producing vegetable growth substrate based on coconut peat, which method consists in acidifying a coconut peat by adding an aqueous solution to the coconut peat which comprises: - 20 to 30% (v / v) of nitric acid; - 5 to 15% (v / v) of phosphoric acid; and - 5 to 15% (v / v) of sulfuric acid, where 1 to 100 moles of H + are added per cubic meter of coconut peat, thus providing vegetable growth substrate based on coconut peat with a pH lower than 5.
