A device configured to obtain a plurality of higher order ambisonic coefficients, HOA, representative of a sound field, with the device comprising: one or more processors configured to: obtain from a bit stream data indicative of a plurality of values weights representing a vector, with each of the weighting values corresponding to a respective one of a plurality of weights in a weighted sum of code vectors representing the vector, defined the vector in a spherical harmonic domain, and representative of a directional component of a corresponding audio object present in the sound field represented by the plurality of HOA coefficients; obtain, from the bit stream, data indicative of which of a plurality of code vectors to use to reconstruct the vector; select a subset of the code vectors based on the data indicative of which of a plurality of code vectors to use to reconstruct the vector; reconstruct the vector based on the weighting values and the selected subset of the code vectors; and render, based on the reconstructed vector, speaker feeds for speaker reproduction to reproduce the sound field; a memory coupled to one or more processors, and configured to store the reconstructed vector.
