An immunoglobulin individual variable domain that specifically binds to human macrophage mannose receptor (SEQ ID NO: 1), wherein the immunoglobulin individual variable domain comprises an amino acid sequence comprising 4 framework regions (FR) and 3 regions determining the Complementarity (CDR) according to the following formula (1): FR1-CDR1-FR2-CDR2-FR3-CDR3-FR4 (1); and where CDR1 consists of SEQ ID NO: 67, CDR2 consists of SEQ ID NO: 127 and CDR3 consists of SEQ ID NO: 187; and wherein the framework regions (FRs) have an amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 37 (FR1), SEQ ID NO: 97 (FR2), SEQ ID NO: 157 (FR3), SEQ ID NO: 217 (FR4) .
