A method for controlling a first segment supplied by a first substation and asecondsegment supplied by a second substation an electrical distribution system isprovided. Amethod includes connecting the two segments by closing a first switch devicetherebetween to supply power from the first segment to the second segment when afaultoccurs at the second substation and an active power loss reductionoptimization of thesecond segment and a voltage violation check on the first segment to determinea voltagedeviation of the first segment. An article of manufacture is also provided.The methodand the article of manufacture allow to optimize operational parameters of anelectricaldistribution system that has been restored after a fault.
