THERAPEUTIC COMBINATION OF LOW INTENSITY SHOCK WAVES AND CARBON DIOXIDE FOR THE TREATMENT OF PEYRONIE'S DISEASE

Disclosed is the use of a combination of low intensity shock waves with anamount ofcarbon dioxide for the treatment of a patient having diffused plaque and aplaque massassociated with Peyronie's disease in a penile region, the low intensity shockwaves beingadapted to be provided to the plaque mass in the penile region for softeningthe plaquemass and disrupting any calcification in the plaque mass. The amount of CO2 isadaptedto be injected into the plaque mass. The combination further comprisesexternal counter-pulsationsprovided to the plaque mass for further softening the plaque masse anddisrupting any calcification in the plaque mass. A battery of tests isperformed to quantifyan initial state of parameters associated with Peyronie's disease in thepatient, and isrepeated to quantify a current state of parameters, and the current state iscompared to theinitial state.
