Aspects of the disclosure involve the production of hydrocarbons fromsegregated primary and secondary reservoir zones. Thermal recovery processeswithin the primary zone are used so as to provide thermal energy to thesecondary,underlying, adjoining but distinct zone, increasing fluid mobility within thesecondaryzone. Switching from an upper primary to a lower secondary production wellthenfacilitates improved recovery of hydrocarbons from both the primary andsecondaryzones.
