DEVELOPMENT PROCESS FOR A SEDIMENTARY BASIN COMPRISING HYDROCARBONS, USING A TERRESTRIAL ORGANIC MATTER ACCUMULATION MODEL

- A method for exploiting hydrocarbons within a sedimentary basin, by means of a stratigraphic simulation coupled with a hydrological model and a model of accumulation of terrestrial organic matter. - For at least one time step, using a stratigraphic simulator, we determine the distribution of inorganic sediments within the basin. Then, using a hydrological model, at least one unsaturated zone is delimited within the basin. By means of a model of accumulation of terrestrial organic matter depending on the thickness of the unsaturated zone, the stability of the thickness of the unsaturated zone, and the surface water flux defined for the time step considered, at least one zone of accumulation of the terrestrial organic matter within the basin and a quantity of terrestrial organic matter accumulated in this zone of accumulation are determined. - Application in particular to oil exploration and exploitation.
