A cutting tool includes a tool holding system (12, 122) having a clampingportion (28). The clamping portion (28)includes an integrally formed one-piece inner coupling member (36) that atleast partially forms a clamping sleeve portion (30) havinga clamping bore (32) for clampingly receiving a cutting insert (24). Theclamping portion (28) also includes an integrally formed one-pieceouter coupling member (38) that is circumferentially disposed about at least aportion of the inner coupling member (36). Thetool holding system (12) also has a mounting portion (26) that is connected toone of the inner and outer coupling members (36; 38).The inner and outer coupling members (36; 38) are captively and non-releasablyengaged with each other via inter-engaged first andsecond engagement surfaces (56, 58) that are slidingly displaceable withrespect to each other.
