Systems and methods are disclosed for use in the separation of chiralcompounds, and enantiomers in particular. Thesystem comprises a cavity (110) for containing a fluid mixture that comprisesone or more types of chiral molecules, which may alsoinclude enantiomers, and at least one ferromagnetic or paramagnetic substrate(120) providing at least one interface (130) with saidfluid mixture. The substrate (120) is magnetized providing a magnetic field Bzperpendicular to said ferromagnetic or paramagneticinterface (130), thereby providing a variation in the interaction energy ofchiral molecules of different handedness, aka. enantiomers,with said substrate (120).
