The invention essentially consists in providing, in a reactor or fuel-cell architecture comprising a stack of elementary cells, in addition to the bolt-based clamping mechanism, a clamping chamber through which a gas other than the reactant gases will flow, substantially at the same pressure as the latter in the stack. The pressure of the gas that flows through the clamping chamber, above the stack of the elementary cells, equilibrates the pressure due to the reactant and product gases within the stack.
