A method for securely outsourcing data monitoring from a consumer side system to a provider side system, according to which data for monitoring is obtained by the consumer side system, which also encodes at least a portion of the obtained data for monitoring. Then, the encoded data for monitoring, or the encoded data and a portion of the obtained data, is sent to the provider side system, while excluding at least the data that has been encoded for monitoring. Data for monitoring, sent from the provider side system, is also monitored at the provider side system.
