摘要
The invention pertains to the fields of chemistry and mechanical engineering and relates to glass fiber surfaces which are modified without sizing material and silane and which can be further processed into and used as composite materials, for example reinforcing materials for plastics. The invention also relates to a method for producing the modified glass fiber surfaces. The aim of the invention consists in providing glass fiber surfaces which are modified without sizing material and silane and which exhibit improved properties overall and with respect to further processing into composite materials and in providing a simple and inexpensive method for producing glass fiber surfaces modified in such a manner. This is achieved by glass fiber surfaces which are modified without sizing material and silane, said glass fiber surfaces being at least partly coated at least with hydrolysis-stable and solvolysis-stable cationic polyelectrolytes and/or a hydrolysis-stable and/or solvolysis-stable cationic polyelectrolyte mixture and/or a hydrolysis-stable and/or solvolysis-stable polyelectrolyte complex and coupled to the glass fiber surface via a (polyelectrolyte) complex formation process by means of an ionic bond, thereby forming the polyelectrolyte complex A.
