The present invention relates to a method and a device for controlling the filtering of Internet-of-Things (IoT) data on the basis of a transmission time duration. Said method comprises: a forwarding node monitoring massive IoT data, reported by massive terminal devices, within the wireless coverage range thereof, each piece of IoT data comprising data contents and the reporting moment thereof; the forwarding node determining the detection moment when each piece of IoT data is detected, and determining, according to the reporting moment and the detection moment of each piece of IoT data, the transmission time duration of each piece of IoT data, identifying, from the massive IoT data, multiple pieces of IoT data, the transmission duration of which exceeds a maximum time delay threshold corresponding to the forwarding node, and filtering out the multiple pieces of IoT data from the massive IoT data, so as to obtain the remaining IoT data, and encapsulating the remaining IoT data into a first data element and reporting same to a convergence unit. The embodiments of the present invention can report, to a convergence unit, IoT data having a relatively small delay, thereby ensuring the timeliness of the reported IoT data.
