An automatic regulating valve of a shock absorber and a multistep oil drainage method therefor. Said regulating valve comprises a copper oil drainage piston (10), an oil drainage column (11), a conical oil drainage pin (12) and a regulating valve base (13); an upper pressing piece (14) is fixed on an upper end of the regulating valve base (13) and the two enclose to form a chamber, the oil drainage column (11) is mounted in the chamber; a piston spring (15) is mounted in the oil drainage column (11), the copper oil drainage piston (10) is provided in the oil drainage column (11), and a lower part of the copper oil drainage piston is fitted in the piston spring (15); an oil drainage pin spring (16) is mounted in the copper oil drainage piston (10), the conical oil drainage pin (12) is fitted in the oil drainage pin spring (16); a first oil drainage hole (101) which fits a conical part of the conical oil drainage pin (12) is provided on an upper end of the copper oil drainage piston (10); an outer wall of the oil drainage column (11) is provided with a plurality of second oil drainage holes (111) uniformly. The automatic regulating valve of the shock absorber and a multistep oil drainage method therefor enable the regulating valve to achieve the multistep oil drainage, achieving the effect of automatic regulation; and then not only enable the hydraulic oil to be effectively drained outwardly, but also ensure that there is sufficient and necessary resistance for the downward movement of the shaft and the suspension piston.
