A method for monitoring database performance. The method for monitoring database performance comprises: monitoring the number of a first type of monitoring factors; monitoring the duration of a second type of monitoring factors; monitoring a space size of a third type of monitoring factors; and determining a running state of a database according to the number of factors, the duration and the space size, wherein the running state comprises a normal running state and an abnormal running state. By monitoring the states of three types of monitoring factors, a running state of a database is determined according to the number of a first type of monitoring factors, the duration of a second type of monitoring factors and a space size of a third type of monitoring factors.
