The invention relates to a system and to a method for constructing a system of components for a high-rise building façade, which system combines high fire-resistant thermal insulation with a low area requirement, having the following features: a) a masonry wall fastening means, which is connected to a main inner-support segment of a façade element and connects either an assembly of glass panes (12, 14) on both sides or a panel construction composed of different insulation layers on one side and an assembly of glass panes (12, 14) on the other side in a thermally insulating manner, the main inner-support segment (6) of the vertical main support (3) bearing a main-support outer rail (10) for purposes of construction; b) a thermally insulating connection in the region of a vertical traverse (4) of a façade element (1) between a panel construction and an assembly of glass (12, 14) and/or between two panel constructions and/or between two assembly units of glass (12, 14).
