The invention relates to a measurement method for the electric spectroscopic impedance measurement of a fluid containing living cells, wherein at least two electrodes (2) are arranged in the fluid and a plurality of measurement signals in the form of AC voltages are applied in succession between the electrodes (2) and the current and the voltage are measured as measurement values between the electrodes (2), wherein the frequencies of the AC voltages are at least partly different in the process. It is an object of the invention to provide a method of the above-described type, by means of which the number of cells can be determined more accurately. This is achieved in that the spectroscopic impedance measurement comprises a frequency range from 0.1 Hz to 106 Hz.
