An electric vehicle, a wheel and a switched reluctance motor and a current control method therefor. The control method comprises: during the driving period, simultaneously controlling, by means of a controller (23), first switch tubes (V1, V3, V5) and second switch tubes (V2, V4, V6) to be intermittently on; or controlling the first switch tubes (V1, V3, V5) to be continuously on, and controlling the second switch tubes (V2, V4, V6) to be intermittently on, so as to adjust the driving current of windings (111, 112, 113); during the freewheeling period, controlling, by means of the controller (23), the first switch tubes (V1, V3, V5) to be continuously off, and controlling, by means of pulse width modulation, the second switch tubes (V2, V4, V6) to be intermittently on, so as to adjust the freewheeling current of the windings (111, 112, 113); and controlling, according to the sum of currents, the driving current and the freewheeling current, so as to keep the sum of currents to be within a preset range. The current fluctuation of the switched reluctance motor is small, and thus the fluctuation of the torque is small. As the freewheeling current of the previous phase is relatively large but the driving current of a conducting phase is relatively small, the strength of the magnetic field generated by windings of the conducting phase is weak, thus reducing noise.
