A router side WiFi network switching method, comprising: a router detecting the signal strength of a first WiFi network currently accessed by a terminal; determining the signal strength of a second WiFi network at the current location of the terminal according to a relationship between the signal strength of the first WiFi network and the signal strength of the second WiFi network; determining whether the signal strength of the first WiFi network and the signal strength of the second WiFi network satisfy a preset switching condition; if the signal strength of the first WiFi network and the signal strength of the second WiFi network satisfy the preset switching condition, enabling the terminal to switch between the first WiFi network and the second WiFi network. The method enables a terminal to automatically switch between a 2.4G WiFi network and a 5G WiFi network.
