Embodiments of the present invention relate to the technical field of terminals, and provide a method and device for displaying candidate words, and a graphical user interface, which can improve the efficiency for inputting information by a user by means of an input method. The method is applicable to a scene where a user inputs information by means of an input method, and comprises: determining the type of an application calling the input method; determining dimension information corresponding to the type according to the type; determining a thesaurus corresponding to the dimension information according to the dimension information; and displaying, in a default candidate region of the input method, at least one candidate word meeting a preset criterion in the thesaurus.
