The present invention relates to novel hepatitis delta virus (HDV) entry inhibitors, to a novel pharmaceutical composition, and to a method for treating HDV infection and co-infection of HDV and hepatitis B virus (HBV). The present hepatitis delta virus entry inhibitor is 1,1-dioxo-1,4-dihydro-2H-benzo[1,2,4]thiadiazin-3-one of general formula 1, or a hydrate and/or solvate thereof, wherein Ar1 and Ar2 are optionally identical aryls, including phenyl, optionally substituted with one, two or three substituents selected from C1-C4 alkyl, methoxyl, halogen, carboxyl of optionally substituted carbamoyl and carbonitrile.
