The method comprises: receiving an operation command of a user setting an image selected by means of a long press by the user as an image in a continuous selection status; acquiring from an image library a starting sequence number and an ending sequence number of images in a continuous selection status; determining whether a difference between the starting sequence number and the ending sequence number is greater than a pre-determined threshold; when the difference between the starting sequence number and the ending sequence number is greater than the pre-determined threshold, setting all images in a not-selected status having a sequence number between the starting sequence number and the ending sequence number as images in a continuous selection status. It is possible to continuously select images, and it is also possible to non-continuously select images, and by means of combining multiple selection modes, e.g. selecting an image by means of a single click and selecting an image by means of a long press, it is possible to rapidly select a picture, having the effects of few user operations, high selection efficiency, and high image selection flexibility.
