A refrigerator (100) having a disinfection function and a method for ultraviolet disinfecting and storing foods or sanitary articles by using the refrigerator (100). The refrigerator (100) comprises: a cabinet (10) having an internal space; a transport passage (40) vertically extending in the internal space; an exchange chamber (20) provided in the internal space and having a first door body (201) and a second door body (202); a first sterilization component (501) provided in the exchange chamber (20); at least one storage chamber (30) provided in the internal space; and transport components (60). The refrigerator (100) is provided with the exchange chamber (20), the storage chamber (30) and the transport passage (40), and performs deep ultraviolet sterilization on articles before the articles enter the storage chamber (30), increasing the disinfection effect; the exchange chamber (20) and the storage chamber (30) are connected by means of the transport passage (40), reducing the gas exchange in the storage space of the storage chamber (30), being beneficial for maintaining the storage space of the storage chamber (30) to be in a state of sterility or low bacteria content.
