This structure for mounting a dust cover to a ball joint has a ball stud which is provided to the ball joint, and a ferrule ring which is provided to the dust cover. The dust cover has a dust cover body which is formed from a rubber-like elastic body and which is provided with a stationary portion provided at one end of a diaphragm portion, and a seal portion provided at the other end. The seal portion is in contact with the ferrule ring. The ferrule ring and the ball stud are connected by an engagement structure formed by combining a plurality of recesses and protrusions extending in the axial direction of the stud and engaging with each other. The recesses and protrusions, which compose the engagement structure, are engaged with each other by spline fitting in one embodiment and by serration fitting in another embodiment.
