Provided in embodiments of the present disclosure are a surface texture identification sensor, a surface texture identification device and a surface texture identification method thereof, and a display device. The surface texture identification sensor is configured to identify ridges and valleys of a surface. The identification unit comprises: a first dielectric layer (10) and a second dielectric layer (20) overlapping each other; a light source (40) configured to emit light into the first dielectric layer (10); and a photosensitive detector (30) located on a side of the second dielectric layer (20) away from the first dielectric layer (10) and configured to detect whether the light emitted from the light source passes through an interface of the first dielectric layer (10) and the second dielectric layer (20) to reach the photosensitive detector (30). Light from the light source enters the interface (S) at an incident angle; and by the surface coming into contact with the identification unit, the refractive index of at least one of the first dielectric layer (20) and the second dielectric layer (20) is changed so that the total reflection critical angle is changed into an angle greater than the incident angle from an angle less than the incident angle, or an angle less than the incident angle from an angle greater than the incident angle.
