[Problem] To separate a Fourier-transform hologram-reproduced image and a volume-reflection hologram-reproduced image so as to allow observation. [Solution] A hologram element comprises a hologram layer recorded by superimposing: a first interference fringe converted into a Fourier-transform hologram-reproduced image when light from a point light source disposed separated from an incident surface is made incident; and a second interference fringe converted to a volume-reflection hologram-reproduced image when playback illumination light is made incident on the incident surface along a direction that is inclined in relation to the normal direction of the incident surface.
