A bending sensor (100) includes a flexible substrate (110) made of polyimide; a laser-induced graphene electrode (120) formed into a top surface of the flexible substrate (110); and first and second pads (130, 132) formed as a laser-induced graphene into the top surface of the flexible substrate (110), wherein the first and second pads (130, 132) are in electrical contact with the laser-induced graphene electrode (120). A bending of the flexible substrate (110) and the laser-induced graphene electrode (120) changes a resistivity of the laser-induced graphene electrode (120), which is indicative of an amount of bending.
