The present solution provides a method for adaptive control of power of an energy storage type power supply system. When transformer power is greater than load power, transformer power headroom is used to charge an energy storage unit, so that at low system load power or during the trough period of power consumption, the transformer power headroom is used to charge the energy storage unit, so as to increase power consumption during the trough period of power consumption and to reduce charging costs; while when the transformer power is less than the load power, the energy storage unit is controlled to enter a discharging state to meet load power requirements, so that at large system load power or during the peak period of power consumption, the energy storage unit is discharged to provide power required by a system, so as to slow down the capacity increase of a transformer and to reduce the operation capacity payment of the transformer and the peak value of a power grid. Hence, according to the method, the operation costs of an energy storage type power supply can be reduced, and the power grid is stabilized. Also disclosed in the present solution is a system for adaptive control of power of an energy storage type power supply system. The system also has the beneficial effects above.
