A method and apparatus for determining the level of attention of subject for both auditory and visual stimulus such as television commercial displayed on screen, billboards, radio advertisements, checking the product response at designing stage to ensure product's market potential, response to campaigning or price of the product or service. The technique involves projecting audible and visible radiations from monitor screen or VR-goggles and headsets at a predetermined frequency. This control signal is first applied to subjects and an EEG response is obtained. The control signal is then simultaneously applied with audio and visual information, television commercial, design of product, price of product or services, and EEG signals are obtained. An assessment of the subject's interest is then made by determining the increase or decrease in the value of the components of the EEG response attributable to the control signal.
