Provided is a vicinity monitoring system comprising: an operation command output part for outputting an operation command to an alert device disposed on a work vehicle on the basis of detection data from an object detection device for detecting an object in the vicinity of the work vehicle; an invalidation part for invalidating the operation command on the basis of an invalidation command outputted from a cancellation device disposed in the operating cab of the work vehicle; and a validation part for validating the invalidated operation command on the basis of detection data from an onboard state detection device for detecting a specific onboard state of the operator in the operating cab.
