The invention relates to a multiple-battery adapter (10) for establishing an electrical connection between at least two traction batteries (40, 50) on the one hand and a drive unit (60) of an electric bicycle on the other hand, comprising a drive unit plug-in connector (26) and at least two battery plug-in connectors (22, 24), wherein the drive unit plug-in connector (26) is electrically connected to the drive unit (60) and the at least two battery plug-in connectors (22, 24) are electrically connected to in each case one traction battery (40, 50), a control unit (12) which has an independent battery management module (18), and a supply switch (12), wherein the supply switch (12) can be actuated by the battery management module (18) in such a way that an electrical supply connection (66) can be established between the drive unit (60) and the first traction battery (40) and/or the second traction battery (50).An electric bicycle can be extended by an additional traction battery (50) using a multiple-battery adapter (10) of this kind in a simple manner and without adapting the traction battery (40) or the drive unit (60).
