The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a cell population that includes adhesive stem cells exhibiting a high immunosuppressive effect and/or proliferative properties; a method for producing the cell population; and a pharmaceutical composition containing the cell population. The present invention provides a method for producing a cell population that includes adhesive stem cells, the method comprising the acquisition of a cell population having cell characteristics (a) and (b): (a) the cell population is positive for expression of PLIN2 gene and NEFM gene; and (b) the relative amount of PLIN2 gene expression with respect to the amount of SDHA gene expression is at least 1.50.
