Provided are: a head module position adjustment method with which the relative position of each head module can be appropriately adjusted in an inkjet recording device provided with a plurality of inkjet head bars that are disposed in a multiple configuration and that record the same color; an inkjet recording device; an adjustment assistance device; a program; and a printed matter manufacturing method. In a head module adjustment method of one embodiment, a representative value of a nozzle relative position, which represents a deviation in the relative position between dots that are recorded by the corresponding nozzles of head modules that record in overlapping areas of paper, is kept within a target range by measuring the nozzle relative position at multiple locations within the range of the head modules, and then adjusting the positions of the head modules of each inkjet head bar on the basis of the nozzle relative position representative value, which is calculated on the basis of the nozzle relative positions measured at the multiple locations.
