The present invention provides a fan assembly comprising a fan body comprising an air inlet, a motor-driven impeller contained within the fan body and arranged to generate an airflow, a nozzle mounted on and supported by the fan body, the nozzle being arranged to receive the airflow from the fan body and to emit the airflow from the fan assembly, a particulate filter media mounted on the fan body over the air inlet, and a catalyst for oxidative decomposition of volatile organic compounds that is supported on the fan assembly downstream of the particulate filter media.
