The present disclosure relates to a method (300) for updating a pilot situational awareness system. The method comprises the step of providing (310) sensor data from at least one non- ranging sensor aboard an aircraft for which the pilot situational awareness system is used. The method further comprises the step of updating (360) a database of the pilot situational awareness system based on the provided sensor data.
